Having never aspired to play in old fashioned Big Bands, I am happy to say that I now play in a few creative and modern ones: Josh Roseman’s Extended Constellation’s/ King Froopy Allstars and Andrew D’angelo’s Band.
Through this band I have met so many great musicians and really enjoy the opportunity to explore Andrew’s compositions. In fact, Matt Wilson first heard me play in D’Angelo’s band and subsequently decided to hire me for his quartet. I have many great friends and talented colleagues in this group, including: Jeremy Udden, Brian Drye, Josh Roseman, Josh Sinton, John Carlson, Jacob Wick, Jacob Garchik, Chris Tordini Nicole Federici and Dan Wiess to name just a few. In 2010, we recorded our first CD and it is in the process of being mixed.
Andrew and I are also forming a quartet which I am very excited about! So stay tuned for more information about that!
Andrew’s playing is some of the most emotionally arresting I have ever heard and it is a huge pleasure to play with him.
